Pauline G. Dale, age 80, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully January 27, 2009 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was born and raised in Fitchburg, MA June 2, 1928. She moved to Atlanta in 1951 as a stewardess for Eastern Airlines where she was introduced to her future husband, Frank, by Eastern’s physician and close family friend, Dr. Irene Phrydas. It was love at first sight and they were married six months later. They raised three children in the Atlanta area, Frank, Jr., Ellen and Stephen.. For the last year she has been lovingly cared for by the wonderful people at The Court at Decatur. She was predeceased by her son Stephen. She is survived by her husband Frank, son Frank Jr., daughter Ellen Algers, son-in-law, Gary Algers, grandchildren Michael Algers and Katie Algers of Smyrna, Anthea Dale Garrett of Monroe and Phillip Dale of Atlanta, great-grand children Angelique and Alexis Dale. Also surviving are four siblings, Betsy O’Connell of Fitchburg, MA, Paul Gelep of Chapmansboro, TN, James Gelep of Mashpee, MA, Mary Sherwin of San Diego, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Alex (Skee) Gelep, formerly of Hyannis, MA.Services will be held on Friday, January 30th at noon at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of The Annunciation on Clairmont Road. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 PM to 8PM at A.S. Turner and Sons. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM.
