Penelope Craig Reese of Atlanta died on August 4, 2010. She was born on November 9, 1944 in Carbon Hill, Alabama. She is survived by her husband of almost 44 years, Howard W. Reese Jr. and three children, Howard W. (Trey) Reese III and wife, Susan; Gregory M. Reese and wife, Jeanene; and Shannon E. Reese. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Will, Elizabeth, Sam, and Ben Reese and three sisters, Janis Lively and husband, Charles; Gloria Denton and husband, David; and Vera Forkner and husband, Tom. She was predeceased by her parents, Murray and Ruth Craig. Education was very important to her; she taught in the public school system for 37 years. She also was a coach for Chamblee High School swim team and neighborhood summer league. She was a member of Peachtree Baptist Church and Clairmont Hills Baptist Church. She loved music and was active in music ministry: she sang in the choir and played the piano and handbells. She was the pianist for the Clairmont Hills Baptist Church Quartet. She was always loving and generous and will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, 1995 Clairmont Rd., Decatur, GA 30033. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Clairmont Hills Baptist Church Scholarship Fund or a charity of your choice.
