Pete Soulimiotis

January 10, 1934 — March 22, 2025

Pete Soulimiotis passed away on March 22, 2025, in Atlanta, GA

Pete Soulimiotis was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth, laughter, and generous spirit touched all who knew him. Born in the small village of Faraklada, Greece, he moved to Athens at the age of 15, where he began working in a small grocery store-a humble beginning that led to a lifetime of hard work and success. After marrying the love of his life, Eleni (Pournos) Soulimiotis, Pete opened his own grocery store, providing for his family and community with kindness and dedication.

He later moved to the United States, building a career at Ford Motor Company, first in Cleveland, Ohio, and later in Atlanta, where he worked until his retirement in 2001. Pete had a passion for cars and took great pride in representing Ford at the annual Atlanta Auto Show, where he enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm with visitors.

A lifelong lover of soccer, Pete faithfully supported his beloved Olympiacos team and cherished every opportunity to play and watch the sport. His deep-rooted love for Greek culture and traditions was evident in everything he did. As a dedicated member of the Greek Orthodox Church, both in Cleveland and Atlanta, he found great joy in volunteering at the Atlanta Greek Festival, where he was affectionately known as the "cheese man" at the Bakaliko (market), offering visitors a taste of his heritage.

Pete will always be remembered for his big smile, gregarious laugh, and warm-hearted nature. He loved sharing stories about his homeland, his family, and his culture with everyone he met.

He is survived by his loving children: Steve Soulimiotis of Atlanta, John Soulimiotis of Jasper, Stacy Lukaszewicz of Fairview Park, OH, and Andrew Soulimiotis of Atlanta; his grandchildren: Caleb Stinton, Luke Soulimiotis, Savannah Soulimiotis, and Peter Soulimiotis. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eleni Soulimiotis, and his parents, Sevasti and Steve Soulimiotis.

A service to honor Pete's life will be held on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at 1:00pm, at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation. Visitation will also be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation from 12:00pm - 1:00pm. Burial will follow immediately after the funeral service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA
