Peter Taylor

Mr. Peter Taylor, 75 of Atlanta, Georgia and formerly of Montpellier, Vermont, Bangor, Maine and Newport News, Virginia, passed away August 26, 2012. Pete was married for 42 years to his beloved wife Margaret. Surviving are his children; sons Paul Taylor of Norcross, Daniel Taylor and wife Cindy Taylor of Athens; daughters Susan Taylor of Stone Mountain, Julie Taylor Janes and husband Shawn Janes of Hoschton; grandchildren, Hannah and Jack Taylor, Ansley and Ben Janes; sister Shelia House of Sarasota, FL.


Pete was a native of New England and a graduate of Bangor High School and the Maine Maritime Academy. He was a nuclear engineer for more than 25 years with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching Saint Pius X High School football, basketball, and soccer during his retirement.


The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Arrangements by A.S Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N Decatur Rd, Decatur (404) 292-1551.


A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 9:30 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 636 West Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA with Father Brian Lorei serving as celebrant.
