Pura Novo, 88, of Atlanta, beloved wife and mother, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017. Born in La Coruna, Spain, February 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Luis Carames and Josephine Courceiro Souto. Pura grew up in the country side of Spain and at 19 years old left to start a life in the US. She arrived in New York City where she met her husband, Charles Novo, Jr. They lived in the New York for many years and eventually moved to California for a short period. They returned to New York and continued their lives and raising a family in Farmingville out on Long Island for over 40+ years. Eventually they moved to Atlanta where they both enjoyed their young grandchildren. Pura was a faithful woman that loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Pura is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Novo-Rivellese and her husband, Mark, and her daughter Jane Novo; grandson, Jack Rivellese; two granddaughters, Alexandra Simonetti and her husband Thomas; and Isabella Rivellese; great grandson, Tristen Simonetti; sister, Josephine Spolarich and her husband Mike; and many more loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Pura was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Novo, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, October 22, at A.S. Turner & Sons. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 23, in the chapel of A.S. Turners. Interment will follow services at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 23, at GA National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
