Mr. R. W. Ross, 92, of Clearwater, Florida passed away peacefully at Hospice House Woodside on November 24, 2007. Mr. Ross was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 24, 1914 to Annie and Ralph Ross. He graduated from Boy's High School in Atlanta, Ga. He married his beloved wife, Peggy, in 1937 and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary recently with many friends and family at their beautiful home on Sand Key Beach, Florida. Mr. Ross served in the United States Army during World War II. Following the war, Mr. Ross continued to support his country and served in the National Guard for over twenty years, retiring with the rank of Major. R. W., as he was affectionately known, was a very successful salesman for Rich's Department Store in Atlanta, Georgia. R. W. was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and served as Past Master. R. W. rarely met a stranger and loved to socialize into his nineties. He loved to spend time with family and friends, travel, dine out, dance and was an accomplished bridge player. R. W. was particularly proud of his four "beautiful daughters" and spoke often of them to his many friends. Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, four brothers and two grandchildren, Hal Moore and Brittainy Harmon. He is survived by his wife Peggy Bradley Ross of Clearwater, Florida, daughters Penelope (Penny) and Dan Getti of Hammond, Louisiana, Katura (Kitty) and Jim Moore of Pinellas Park, Florida, Connie and David Harmon of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Rebecca (Becky) and Buddy Parrish of Orlando, Florida. His surviving grandchildren and respective spouses are Ross and Kim Brown, Jennifer and Gib Durden, Ken and Janet Harmon, David and Tammy Harmon, Bradley Parrish, Liz and Brus Reed, and Beau Parrish. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, Lloyd, Kaylie and Lindsay Brown, David Zimmerman, and Katie and Gibby Durden. Cryptside services for Mr. Ross will be held on Tuesday, November 27th at 1:00 P. M. at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, Georgia. A special thanks is offered to caregivers, June and Jackie and Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park, Florida.
