Ralph William Tuggle, Jr.

Ralph “Buddy” William Tuggle, Jr.,70, died peacefully on October 8, 2020, at his home in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Buddy was born September 30, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia to Ralph William Tuggle, Sr. and Alice Armistead Tuggle. Buddy was a graduate of Briar Cliff High School and West Georgia College. He owned and operated Clayton County Hardware in Riverdale, Georgia for several years. Buddy and his sister Janice Massee jointly worked in commercial real estate through their company 1885, LLLP. Buddy was a long-term member of Mountain Park First Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He was active in the community with memberships in Riverdale Jaycees and Kiwanis Club.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Ronda Seymour Tuggle. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Teresa West Tuggle of Stone Mountain, Georgia; sister Janice Massee of Clayton, Georgia; nephews Scott Massee of Decatur, Georgia and Kevin Massee (Glenda) of Salem, Alabama; sons Richard Tuggle of Stone Mountain, Georgia; Matthew Carpenter (Brittany) of White, Georgia; Joseph Carpenter of Sanford, Florida; and Daniel Carpenter (Jenny) of Rome, Georgia. Buddy is also survived by 13 grandchildren (Julie, Kayley, Molly, Ally, Abbey, Rylee, Grace Olivia, Audrey, Joshua, McKinley, Harper, Adalee, and Christopher Carpenter). He also leaves behind many friends whom he considered family.
Buddy had many passions in his life, the first being his family. He was a private pilot who completed his first solo flight at the age of 16. Buddy and Teresa recently completed the construction of their dream retirement home in Cave Spring, Georgia and were looking forward to a quiet retirement in the country. When he was not busy with work at home, he enjoyed spending time on Lake Harding in Salem, Alabama with friends and family.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 2PM in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Cox officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 12 – 2 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker. Pallbearers will be Kevin Massey, Joseph Carpenter, Daniel Carpenter, Richard Tuggle, Andy Durden and Hunter Durden. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed on the Facebook page of the funeral home. The family will be available at the residence following the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Buddy’s name to Special Olympics-Georgia (6046 Financial Drive, Norcross, Georgia 30071).
