Randolph Harrison "Randy" Whitelock, 66, of Atlanta, died Monday, September 26, 2011. He was born March 20, 1945 to the late Rachel Randolph and Orace R Whitelock. A native of Atlanta, Randy was a 1964 graduate of Garfield High School in Woodbridge VA. He earned a degree in accounting in 1969 from The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. Mr. Whitelock proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Not only was Randy a highly respected and active member of his church, Glenn Memorial UMC, he also was past president of Kiwanis of Dekalb County, PTA President and Treasurer of Henderson Mill Elementary. He was the President of the DeKalb County Chapter of Georgia Society of CPAs and served on committees at the state level including the Tax Committee. In the early 80's Randy co-founded a charity golf tournament to benefit The Methodist Children's Home. He was in private practice as a CPA in Atlanta 41 years, and was a well respected member of the professional community. Randy will always be remembered as a beloved husband, loving father and grandfather, and a sterling example of integrity to his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; son Keith Whitelock and wife Shondolyn, daughter Dana Ripley and husband Steve, son Ben Gasser; granddaughters Paula-Gail Whitelock and Savannah Ripley; brother Ray Whitelock, and sister Marie Hawkins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Glenn Memorial UMC at 10:00am. The family will receive friends at A. S. Turner Friday, September 30, 2011, from 6pm until 8pm.
