Ravenel Richards Kaye

Amanda Ravenel Richards Kaye was welcomed into life on Nov. 5, 1946 in Atlanta, Ga. She was the oldest child born to parents Mark Lea Richards and Thelma "Boots" Ravenel Richards. Ravenel went to eternal rest in Heaven on Nov. 23, 2014 in Jasper, Georgia.
Ravenel was raised in Decatur, Ga. and attended Decatur High School and then Sullins College. She married Arnold Stanley Kaye, and they were blessed with a wonderful son Arnold Stanley Kaye, Jr. nicknamed "Che". She is remembered as a loving and devoted mother, sister and aunt and a caring and dear lady by all who knew her. Family and friends remember her for her wit, sense of fun, creative spirit, her love of children, nature and all of God's creatures. She was loyal and generous to family and her many friends. With Ravenel every day was a fun and memorable adventure. Lyrics in a song relate well to Ravenel - "Because I knew you, I have been changed for the better."
Ravenel is predeceased by her parents. Ravenel's memory will be cherished by her son Che Kaye and wife Courtney from Danielsville, Ga, brother Ned Richards and wife Marsha from Norcross, Ga., sister Laura Lea and husband Neale Elliott from Conyers, Ga., and sister Ellen Richards from Decatur, Ga. Her adored nieces and nephews include Nina and Katie Elliott, Rachel and Johnny Richards and Dane Richards and wife Debbie and their four children - Josiah, Ember, Sage and Grace of Watkinsville, Ga. The family would like thank her many friends for their friendship and affection over the years. A special thank you and blessing is expressed to Debbie McKenna and Tammie Gay for their amazing care during her last days. In lieu of flowers, a gift honoring her life may be made to her favorite causes - the Heifer Organization (855-848-6437) or St. Jude Hospital (800- 822-6344) or to a charitable cause of your choosing.

Friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, Nov. 28th at 1:00 PM and a memorial service of celebration immediately following at 2:00 PM in Decatur, Ga. at A. S. Turner and sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
