Raymond H. Hiller passed away peacefully on the morning of July 27, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ray was born in Decorah, Iowa on November 23, 1924. Before joining the Navy in 1943, Ray attended Luther College and continued his education at Iowa State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Ray worked for Curtis Lighting in Chicago and then transferred to Atlanta in 1949. After working many years as a company sales rep for Thomas Industries, he formed his own sales agency Ray Hiller and Associates, Inc. in 1971. He continued to work until he was 86 years old, and the company continues to prosper today.
Ray most enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his beloved wife of 65 years, Emily. He spent much of his leisure time at the house he built on Lake Lanier and loved sharing it with friends throughout the years. Ray will be remembered for his honesty and integrity in all that he did. He was a kindhearted man who led by his example.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. F. Milton Hiller, his brother Robert Hiller and his wife Emily Hiller. He is survived by his children Kim Parker (Doug) of Appling, Georgia, Chip Hiller (Karen) of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Carol Masters (Rick) of Oak Ridge, North Carolina, as well as four granddaughters Jenna Parker, Kaley Sutphen (Tyler), Kristin Hiller and Wendi Hiller.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 1 at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer (731 Peachtree St. NE., Atlanta, GA 30308).
