Raymond Miller Rambo, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully at Piedmont Hospital on Saturday, October 14, 2017. He was born on November 22, 1927 in Atlanta, GA to the late Henry McIntosh and Bessie Miller Rambo. He is survived by a daughter, Donna Rambo Ennis (Richard) and a son, Raymond Miller Rambo, Jr., along with five grandchildren, Miller Rambo (fiancée-Cassandra Boyle), Stephen Ennis (Hannah), Benjamin Rambo (Rebecca), Rachel Ennis (fiancée-Charlie deCelle) and David Rambo, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Rose Virginia Rambo, his wife of 57 years, and two sisters and three brothers. A devoted husband and father, he spent his career working for Southern Bell Telephone Company, retiring with more than 40 years of service. He was a faithful member of Shallowford Presbyterian Church, having served as both a deacon and elder for a number of years. Beyond his family, his most treasured accomplishment was leading a number of people to Christ through his work with the Evangelism Explosion program. Funeral services for Mr. Rambo will be Wednesday, October 18 at 11 am., at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 pm., at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home.
