Reba Treon, 79, of Atlanta, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, she was predeceased by her parents; Ralph C. and Hazel S. Treon and twin sister Rita T. Duncan. She graduated from Bass High School in 1951, received her B.S. from Bessie Tift College and her M.S. from Georgia Institute of Technology. She was a passionate educator and served the Atlanta School System for many years both as a teacher and principal. Following her official retirement, she continued to serve as an administrative liaison with the Atlanta Board of Education. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Survivors include sister, Ulilla T. (John) Witherspoon, Oak Ridge, TN; nieces, Patti D. (Butch) Vosburgh, Sharon Witherspoon, Susan (Rick) Reed and Trish (Richard) Spore; nephews, Jack Duncan, Jr., Steve Duncan, Robert (Judith) Witherspoon and Michael (Robyn) Witherspoon, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and a great-grand nephew. She was devoted to Cinco, her beloved canine companion and fifth Boston Terrier. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Atlanta on Wednesday, November 28 at 1 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. The graveside ceremony will immediately follow at Westview Cemetery.
