Rebecca A. Combs Pugh

On Tuesday, June 2nd, 2021, Rebecca Combs Pugh, died at the age of 92. Rebecca was born on January 10, 1929 in Dublin, Georgia later moving to Atlanta, Ga. Rebecca was the daughter of the late Maynard George Combs from Long Island, New York and the late Louise Cochran Combs of Dublin, Georgia. Rebecca was married and divorced to Steve Dent Pugh and had one son, Mark Steven Pugh.

She is preceded in death by her parents Maynard G. / Louise Combs of Dublin Ga., her sisters, Doris Louise Combs of Dublin, Ga. and Jean C. Dodd of Tyrone. Ga.

She is survived by her brother of 96 years Burke Combs of Hixson, TN. His 3 children, their spouses and families, her son Mark Steven Pugh of Atlanta Georgia,
Debbie M. Dodd, her daughter and her spouse and family.

After graduating from Mars Hill Junior College, Rebecca spent her entire career in the fashion buying industry with Davison Paxon Co. / Davison's / Macy's until approximately 1975. Later being the Buyer at Royal Arts & Crafts until her eventual retirement.

She was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church for the last 40 odd years. She was an active member of the Chapel Bible Class there with Ms. Sara McGee. Ms. Pugh attended the last several years at Rehoboth Baptist Church of Tucker Georgia. She was a member of the Radiant Bible Class where she served as Secretary and group leader at Rehoboth Baptist Church.
She was also a member of the Bible Study Fellowship in person and online leading up to her death.
