Ree Howe

December 12, 1930 — July 26, 2015

A cherished friend, beloved church member, respected professional, admired mother, doting grandmother and proud great grandmother, Ree Howe took joy in always helping others. Born Dec. 12, 1930, in Shorterville, Alabama, she was raised in the quant South Georgia town of Blakely, Georgia and moved to Atlanta to begin her nursing career - graduating from Emory Nursing School and going on to enjoy a distinguished career as a head nurse at Emory Hospital. Marrying Karl Howe of Tallapoosa in 1957, the couple joined Clairmont Hills Baptist Church that same year and have served as devoted members ever since. Ree died Saturday, July 25, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her husband Karl, her two children, Betsy Masarek and Richard Howe, her grandchildren Adam, Jason, Alex, Carson, Caroline and Lily Kate, and her great-grandchildren Ari and Elliot. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 31, 2015 at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church 1995 Clairmont Rd. Decatur, GA 30033. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
