Rev. Richard (Dick) Whitley

Rev. W. Richard (Dick) Whitley of Ellenwood died Thursday, March 8, 2007. He was born and raised in Tifton, GA and was a World War II Army veteran. Rev. Whitley founded Glyndale Baptist Church and Beverly Shores Baptist Church in Brunswick, GA. He is survived by his daughter, Joy Lyon of Ellenwood; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Alexandra Whitley of Conyers, Jim and Karen Whitley of Birmingham, AL; sister, Mrs. Jeanette Shaw of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Tyler Whitley, John Paul Whitley, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10th at 11 PM at Glen Haven Baptist Church, 345 East Lake Rd., McDonough GA. Rev. Ralph Easterwood will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons
