Richard Harward (Dick) Mohler of Decatur, GA died on Wednesday December 13, 2017 . He was born in St. Joseph, MO November 9, 1929 to Harry and Marie Schafer Mohler. He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Mohler of St Joseph. He grew up in St. Joseph and attended the University of Missouri until he went into the service. He was in the Korean War in Counter Intelligence with the 1st Marine Division.
He enjoyed a successful career in National Account Sales of storage tanks and
material handling equipment with Butler Manufacturing and with TecTank.
Dick and his wife Jane retired to St. Augustine, FL in 1994 and enjoyed many years
with good friends traveling and playing golf at Marsh Creek. Dick was active in Memorial
Presbyterian Church and served on the Session. Dick and Jane also lived at Lake
Oconee before moving to Decatur in 2012.
Dick’s greatest joy was his family. He was an exceptional loving husband, father,
grandfather and great grandfather. Most of all he was a good man loved by many.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jane Mohler. He is also survived by six children:
Mike Mohler and wife Joni, Beth Guerra and husband Mike, Loren Reagin, Sam
Reagin and wife Ellen, Chris Mohler, and Julianne Targan and husband Adam.
Dick took special pride in his grandchildren: Anna Brown and husband Chris, Sean
Reagin and wife Jade, Nick Canfield and partner Victoria, Danny Mohler and fiancee
Melissa, Mary Ponder and husband Lee, Mark Reagin and partner Meagan, Bayley
Canfield, Jake Canfield, Ben Targan, and Sam Targan. He was blessed with five great grandchildren: Scarlett Canfield, Ellison Ponder, Bodhi Brown, Henley Ponder and June Reagin.
The family expresses sincere appreciation for the compassionate care at Emory
University Hospital and at Hospice Atlanta.
The celebration of a long life well-lived will be held at Shallowford Presbyterian
Church, Atlanta, GA on Friday December 29th at 11:00 am. Internment will be in St. Augustine FL at Memorial Presbyterian Church in the Columbarium Wall on Wednesday January 10th, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
