Richard Leroy Martin

Mr. Richard L. Martin, Sr., age 90, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Decatur died Monday, May 13, 2013. Richard was born in Pittsburg, PA and spent his childhood in Clarkston, GA, graduating from Clarkston High School in 1941. He served in WWII in the US Army Air Corp in England and Germany. Martin owned a credit bureau, Independent Service Bureau, for 25 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris A. Martin and a son, Richard L. Martin, Jr. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Lynn and Leroy Timothy; granddaughter, Fara Ward Bowler and her husband, Russell; grandson, Richard Thomas Ward and his wife, Nikki; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons with Rev. Clay Bowden officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
