Richard Victor Johnson

The family of Richard V. "Rick" Johnson is saddened by his passing on January 31, 2014, after a prolonged illness. He will be remembered for his love of family, open-wheeled car racing, music and photography. A 40 year resident of Decatur, Georgia, Rick was born in Chicago, Illinois, in April 1947 to Carl and Kathryn Wey Johnson. He grew up on army bases throughout the U. S. and Germany. He retired from information technology management in 2012. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; sons, James and Andrew; daughter, Kathryn TeBordo with her husband, Christian, and their son, Wesley. A memorial service will be held 12 pm, Thursday, April 24, in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons, with the Reverend Nicholas TeBordo, of Cohoes NY, officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Decatur Education Foundation, decatureducationfoundation.org. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 am prior to the service at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory..
