Robert Alfred Cuneo

Kindness, generosity, humility, humor, musicality…these words describe our beloved Bob. Robert Alfred Cuneo, known to all as Bob, lived his life in earnest service to others. Born September 16, 1942, Manhattan, he grew up in Bergenfield, NJ and graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and earned an MBA at Georgia State.

Bob moved to Atlanta, GA for a job with Western Electric, and later worked for AT&T. He accepted early retirement and soon took a job as a lab technician for a biotech development firm. He later worked with a friend in a residential contracting partnership.

In March of 1990 Bob married the love of his life, Helen Corrigan, at the Cathedral of Christ the King. They have continued their membership at the Cathedral over the years.

Music was a big part of Bob’s life. He started playing clarinet at age nine and continued throughout his life. Bob served in numerous community musical organizations, including A Volante Winds, Callenwolde Concert Band, and the Atlanta Concert Band, where he was a member for 47 years. He served as a board member and for many years served as principal clarinet. For over 30 years, Bob led a group that performed Christmas music each year at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home in Atlanta.

Bob passed away on April 5, 2021 at Harbor Grace Hospice, Atlanta, Georgia, after a brave struggle with cancer. He is predeceased by his father, Alfred Cuneo; his mother, Irma Cuneo; his brother, Richard Cuneo. He is survived by his wife, Helen Corrigan Cuneo; nieces Mary Cuneo and Faye Cuneo; aunt Florence Beritelli, cousin Tom Beritelli, and beloved friends and fellow musicians.

His funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 14, at Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA. 30305. The burial will be held at 2:00 pm, at Honey Creek Woodlands Natural Burial Grounds, 2625 Highway 212 SW; Conyers, Georgia 30094. 770-483-7535 www.honeycreekwoodlands.com
