Robert Andrew House

Robert Andrew House, of Decatur, Georgia, passed away Friday, September 4. Rob was born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 23, 1971, the middle of three boys to Richard and Frances House of Cumming, GA. He was a graduate of Lassiter High School. He studied at Georgia Tech prior to transferring to Auburn University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian in 1994 with a degree in Operations Management.
A gifted and respected engineer, he began his career with Rockwell Industries in Greenville before moving to Decatur, which was his home for the last 17+ years. He worked for Belt Corporation of America in Cumming for over 10 years, building machines that only his brilliant mind could fathom.
His passions were family, friends (his Paisans), engineering and soccer. Over the years, he coached numerous children's teams, including both his daughters' teams, and could be found at least twice a week on a field playing with people half his age- and teaching them a thing or two.
He lived to help others, always the first on the scene when friend or family called. He was a devoted son, brother, husband and father. He inspired others to be a better version of themselves.
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Lani House, two daughters, Olivia Jane House (12) and Alma Francesca House (8); siblings Jeffrey House of Jacksonville, FL and Michael House of Roswell as well as many other family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 10 at 11:00 AM at the family's parish St Thomas More Catholic Church at 636 W. Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030, with Monsignor Paul Fogarty officiating. A reception will follow in the St Julie Room. The family requests that any memorials be made to the St Thomas More School Annual Fund in memory of Robert House c/o STM School 630 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur 30030. A. S.
