Robert (Bob) R. Ginn was born August 21, 1933 in Atlanta to Alma Dearhart and Robert T. Ginn, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 19, 2016. Cause of death was congestive heart failure. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Schulze Ginn; children Linda Brown (Craig) of Atlanta, Robert A. Ginn (Amy) of Lawrenceville, David Ginn (Christy) of Conyers and Steven Ginn of Decatur; grandsons, Christopher Ginn and Zachary Ginn; granddaughters, Christina Conner, Jordan Ginn, Ellie Ginn and Taylor Ginn. Bob graduated from Hoke Smith High School in 1952. He received a BBA degree from Georgia State University in 1956 and Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School in 1965. He rose to the rank of Major in the US Army Reserves with 6 years of service. Bob retired from the Georgia Public Service Commission where he served for 34 years. He was a resident of Decatur, GA for over 50 years and a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Bob treasured his time with his wife and children. Bob was a leader with the Boy Scouts of America and he supported all of his children in their endeavors. He will be dearly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 22 in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with interment to follow at Decatur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Atlanta Humane Society or Lifeline Animal Project. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, Decatur, GA.
