Robert Charles Patterson

Robert "Pat" Patterson of Decatur, GA passed away December 13, 2013. He was born on April 24, 1915 in Griffin, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Frances Fletcher Patterson and his son, Bob Patterson. He is survived by his daughter, Claire Patterson of Decatur and his son Carlton Patterson and wife Mary Ebbitt of Avondale Estates. Robert was a devoted husband and father. He liked playing golf, photography, gardening, and camping with his family. Robert worked at Griffin Wood Products until it closed due to fire. He moved his family to Decatur, GA in 1955 after taking a job at Randall Brothers where he was Vice President, Treasurer and credit manager until retiring in 1981. Robert was a member of the Alert Sunday school class at the First Baptist Church of Decatur. He was widely known for his sense of humor. Visitation will be in the parlor at the First Baptist Church in Decatur, 308 Clairemont Ave. starting at 11:45 am on Saturday December 21st. Services will follow in the Chapel at 1:00 pm. Officiating will be Dr. Peter Rhea Jones and Reverend Joe Gatlin. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery following the service.
