Mr. Robert Clifton Berry, 82, a resident of Atlanta for 82 years died Friday, August 5, 2005 at Piedmont Hospital. He graduated from Stone Mountain High School and was a veteran of World War II serving in the 8th Army Air Force in combat duty for 3 years in England. Mr. Berry was a member of Druid Hills Baptist Church since 1947. He was a deacon, a member of the Newton Sunday School class and Chairman of the Board of Ushers for many years. Mr. Berry received his Master's Electrician's License from Smith Hughes. He served on the Georgia State Examiners Board of Electricians and was a member of the local Union IBEW #613 since 1946. He was also a licensed Georgia electrical contractor. Mr. Berry was an officer in the Lions Club with perfect attendance for 35 years. He was married in 1952 at Druid Hills Baptist to his wife of 53 years, Doris Riddick Berry. He is also survived by his daughters, Dolly Berry Kilgore of Roswell, GA, Caroline Berry Sangster of Dunwoody, GA, Ginger Berry Verch of Alpharetta, GA; sons-in-law, Terry Kilgore, Jonathan L. Sangster, and Richard F. Verch; grandsons, Jonathan B. Sangster, James R. Verch, and John F. Verch; and nieces, Louise B. Purvis and Lelia B. Berry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Druid Hills Baptist Church with viewing from 1-2 p.m. Rev. Jonathan Spencer, Dr. Jack Harwell and Rev. Terry Kilgore will officiate. Interment Crest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
