Robert "Elliott" Hilley, Jr., 69, of Tucker, GA, went to be with his Lord on April 23, 2016. He was born to the late Robert Elliott Hilley, Sr. and Catherine Hand Hilley on April 25, 1946, in Atlanta, GA, at Crawford Long Hospital. In his early years, Elliott attended Fernbank Elementary and Gordon Military School. He graduated from Druid Hills High School in 1964 and received a Bachelor of Science from Lagrange College in 1968. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. After his service in the army, he returned to Atlanta to start a career in the family-owned business, Atlanta Barber and Beauty Supply. During this time, in 1974, he married his college best friend, Nancy Beth James. As President of the company, Elliott enjoyed a successful lifetime career at Atlanta Barber and Beauty Supply, where he was known for his hard work, faithfulness to his customers and employees and overall integrity. Elliott was a faithful servant to his local church, Briarlake Baptist Church. Since his first Sunday in attendance in 1974, he served as an usher for the worship services and special events. His genuine smile, love and care for all the people who walked into the church will always be remembered. Elliott was proud of his native Atlanta roots and enjoyed calling Atlanta his home, but was also a part-time resident of New Smyrna Beach, FL. Elliott was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed fishing in the lake in his backyard, as well as in Florida. He also loved working outside to maintain his beautiful yard, restoring antique cars and spending time with his five adored grandchildren. Elliott was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all. He loved the Lord and others well. Elliott is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Nancy; daughter, Helen Garner and her husband, Russell; son, Alex Hilley and his wife Shawna; grandchildren, Benjamin, Peyton and Cate Garner and Landon and Auburn Hilley; sister, Marlene Viers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, at A. S. Turner & Sons, from 6-8pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at Briarlake Baptist Church, at 11am.
