Robert Houston Goodwin, Sr.

Robert “Bob” Houston Goodwin Sr., age 77, passed away peacefully at home in Tucker, Ga on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.
He is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Phyllis Lester Goodwin, three sons, Robert Houston Goodwin, Jr., Jeffrey Chapman Goodwin and Christopher Howard Goodwin, one daughter, Amy Goodwin Bailey, three brother, one sister, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 5, 1941. He was the son of the late Howard Houston Goodwin and Dorothy Elizabeth Mundy Goodwin.

He joined the United States Air Force at age 18 and served with honor for four years.
At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church for 41 years and a member of the church choir.

He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 20 years.

Bob was a loving family man and always involved in his children and grand-children’s lives. His devotion to God, his family and friends was evident to all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Rehoboth Baptist Church, 2997 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker Ga. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
