R. H. “Howard” Vincent, Sr., 83, of Ellenwood died Thursday, November 27, 2008. Mr. Vincent a native Atlantan was born November 14, 1925 and grew up in Kirkwood. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army Corps. Mr. Vincent was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his Cessna and Mooney every chance he got. He was an avid woodworker constructing everything from earrings for his daughters and granddaughters to furniture. Mr. Vincent was a longtime member and Elder at Midway Presbyterian Church. He retired from Southern Bell in 1983 after 37 years of service. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years Barbara Farran Vincent; daughters and son-in-law, Diane and Danny Young of Conyers, Holly Vincent of Decatur; son and daughter-in-law, Robert H. Vincent, Jr. and Wanda Vincent of Tyrone; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Collins of Snellville and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 30th at 2:00 p.m. at Midway Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joy Fisher officiating. Private family interment will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
