Robert Jerry Camden, Sr., 87, of Stone Mountain, died July 15, 2011. Born and raised in Ellington, Missouri, Mr. Camden graduated from Ellington High School in 1941. He served his country during WWII in the U. S. Army Air Corps. Bob was trained as a gunner on the B-24 and flew over 50 combat missions with the 485th Bombing Group, where he was awarded many medals and decorations for his accomplishments. Mr. Camden was for over 43 years a candy salesman for several companies, retiring from Nabisco in 1988. During retirement, he followed his passion with golf and was a long time member of Mystery Valley Golf Club. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mega Reid Camden; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Susan Camden of Conyers ; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at the graveside, 11 AM, Wednesday, July 20, in The Memorial Gardens, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The family will receive friends 3-5 Sunday afternoon at A. S. Turner & Sons.
