Mr. Robert L. Froelich, age 85, of Decatur, GA died on Monday, February 28, 2011. He was born May 13, 1925 in Detroit, MI. He joined the US Navy in 1942 and served in the South Pacific during WWII on board the light cruiser St. Louis, the aircraft carrier USS Franklin, and the USS Lexington. He was a member of Druid Hills Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon , Elder, choir member and Sunday School Superintendant and teacher. He was a member of the Atlanta Elks Lodge, Masons, American Legion and Eagles. Mr. Froelich is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie Froelich; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Froelich II and Sandy; daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Terry Denney, Barbara and Craig Peterson, Susan and Mike Mingle; grandchildren, Lauren Denney Wright, Kristen Denney, Charles Froelich III, Natalie Froelich, Abel Peterson, Jeff Kinlaw, Kelly Blake, and Molly Robbins; great grandchildren, Shelby and Garrett Blake. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elk's Aidmore Children's Center in Conyers, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons.
