Robert Lee Ashworth

Robert Lee Ashworth, age 59, died on June 4, 2018. Friends and relatives are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrate his life and give witness to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ at Eastminster Presbyterian Church 5801 Hugh Howell Road, Stone Mountain , Georgia on Saturday, July 14 at 11:00 o'clock. The Rev. Caleb Clarke will officiate. The family will receive guests at a reception following the service. A private interment service was held at Melwood Cemetary, Stone Mountain, Georgia on June 7, 2018. Rev. Caleb Clarke officiated.

Lee is survived by his parents, Rev. Dr. Robert L. Ashworth and Elizabeth Flowers Ashworth, Roswell, Georgia; wife, Jill Potts Ashworth, Woodbury, Tennessee; son, Alex Ashworth, Ashville, North Carolina; daughter, Greta Ashworth, Ashville, North Carolina; daughter, Gillian Ashworth, Marietta, Georgia; mother of their children, Anne Houlihan Ashworth, Marietta, Georgia; and aunt, Margaret Perrin, Tucker, Georgia.

Lee was born in Athens, Georgia and grew up in Eastminster Presbyterian Church, Stone Mountain, Georgia and Tucker, Georgia where he graduated from high school. He earned his college degree at Furman University, Greenville, South Carolina with a major in English and philosophy. He also completed a year of graduate study at the University of Georgia in journalism.

Lee worked in the technology industry through out his adult life. For the past 14 years he was Senior Account Executive for sales with Management Data Services International, Inc. in Alpharetta, Georgia.

A few of Lee's "favorite things" and talents include enjoying the great outdoors and things of nature, fishing, wilderness camping, mountain climbing from the Blue Ridge to the Great Smokies to the Grand Tetons, boating and kayaking visiting national parks, working in Yellowstone Park, growing vegetable gardens. gourmet cooking and entertaining family and friends, caring for pets and travel.

To honor Lee's life memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Parks Service.
