Robert Lee Lanier, Sr.

Mr. Robert Lee Lanier, age 89,  of Decatur died August 11, 2004. Mr. Lanier retired after 35 years at the Atlanta Joint Railroad Terminals. He was a member of Metropolitan Atlanta Family Campers and a member and National Horseshoe Champion of the National Campers and Hikers Association (HCHA). He is survived by his daughters, Avalee Spinks of Decatur, Lillian Nix and her husband Dennis R. Nix of Snellville; sons Charlie Spinks and his wife Jeanne of The Villages, FL, Robert L. (Bobby) Lanier and wife Gail of Lilburn; brothers, Clifford Lanier of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Harry Lanier of Dublin, GA; six grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 15th, Rev. Jo Jo Thomas officiating. Interment Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery in Mansfield, GA.  The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at A. S. Turner & Sons
