Robert Lowry Logan, Sr.(known by his family and friends as "Sammy"), age 91, passed away at home with his family by his side on May 17, 2014, following a long illness. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 71 years, Martha Moore Logan. Robert was born in Atlanta on September 17, 1922. He graduated from Tech High of Atlanta in 1942, then attended Georgia Evening College. During World War II, he served as a sergeant in the Air Force from 1943-1946 in the aerial gunnery. In 1949, he founded Robert L. Logan and Associates, where he was a successful manufacturers' rep for several industrial lines until 2007. Robert was an avid baseball fan, and he loved hi house at Lake Hartwell. He enjoyed boating on the lake with friends and family over the years and earned the nickname "Mr. Toad". He is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick Jesse Logan and Eva Wynne Logan, by his two sons, Robert Lowry Logan, Jr. and Jeffrey Keith Logan, and by a grandson, Robert Lowry Logan III. Robert is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl Brodnax(and her husband, Billy) of Atlanta and Debbie McDonald (and her husband, Roy) of Atlanta, and also by a daughter-in-law, Pat Logan of Trilby, Florida. He also leaves behind five grandchildren; Tom Brodnax of Lyons, Jennifer Caffrey of Marietta, Kimberly Hudson of Trilby, Florida, Keene Brodnax of Atlanta, and Christopher McDonald of Atlanta. in addition, he had eight great-grandchildren ranging in age from 18 to 1 1/2 whom he dearly enjoyed. He also leaves behind his devoted caregiver of recent years, Judith Cook, and his two loving cats, Smoky and Bandit. The visitation will be held at A.S. Turner and sons on Monday, May 19, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Decatur Cemetery on Tuesday, May 20, starting at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers Donations can be given to The Briarcliff Animal Clinic or to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
