Robert Melson Goodson

 Mr. Robert Melson Goodson of Atlanta died suddenly November 30, 2008. He was born October 18, 1942 in LaGrange, GA; grew up in Franklin and attended Heard County Schools. Robert attended Emory at Oxford and graduated from the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy in 1965. He began his pharmacy career as a pharmacy intern at the Arrington Ingram Drug Company in Rome, Georgia. Robert was the pharmacist in charge at Snapfinger Pharmacy in Decatur, GA and later a partner with Parker Pharmacy in Decatur, GA. He retired in 1996 from the King Drug Stores in Dunwoody, Georgia. Robert also served in the Georgia National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melson and Leila Hearn Goodson. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Eileen P. Goodson. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 4th. Burial will follow in the Franklin City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Franklin. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 3rd at A. S. Turner & Sons.
