Robert Newsome Parham, age 44, passed away peacefully on Monday February 24, 2014 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Rob was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and was treated at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute. Rob was born to John Carter Parham and Leila Kucewicz Parham on September 14, 1969 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated from McCallie School in Chattanooga, and received a BA from Emory University in Atlanta. Rob was a documentation analyst for the Lockheed Martin C130J Program. Rob met his wife Susan in Atlanta, where he was part of a vibrant music scene. He played with the bands William Carlos Williams and Bon Vivants, among others. He had an avid interest in photography and video, as well as a love of science fiction. Rob was a thoughtful, insightful man, respected and admired by a wide circle of family and friends. Rob Parham is survived by his wife, Susan Wells Parham; parents, John and Lee Parham; brother, Carter Parham (Cathy); nephew Jackson Parham and niece, Emmeline Parham. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday March 7, at the Emory University Cannon Chapel, with the Reverend Betsy Lunz officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 PM in the Cannon Chapel Brooks Commons. An additional service will be held at a later date in Chattanooga.
