Robert Owen Baeder, Jr.

Robert Owen Baeder of Decatur passed away on November 13, 2007 at the age of 65. Bob was born on December 14, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. He went to Taft High School.  He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1964.  He served in the United States Navy for 4 years.  After his service he worked for various chemical companies until in 1997, he started his own company, Forest Chemicals, specializing in plant growth hormones. Over the years he enjoyed long walks, fishing, art, reading, and time with his family. He is survived by his wife Sandra Green Baeder of Decatur, Georgia, his son, Patrick James Baeder, his father Robert Owen Baeder, Sr. of Naperville, Illinois, his sisters Patricia Fuja of Naperville, Illinois and Colleen Groff of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, step-son Scott Drake of Decatur, Georgia, step-son John Drake of Decatur, Georgia, step-daughter Beth Brice of Spartanburg, South Carolina, his son-in-law, daughters-in-law and all of his grandchildren who loved him. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to the Decatur Youth Fund at 231 Sycamore Street, Decatur, Georgia 30030. Visitation will be from 4pm-6pm Friday, November 16 at A.S Turner and Son's Funeral Home and the memorial service will be at 11am on Saturday, November 16 also held at A.S. Turner and Son's Funeral Home.
