Roberta Christine Kirkland

Roberta Christine Kirkland Feb. 3, 1918-Dec. 2, 2014. Our Mother was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Kirkland, parents, three sisters and her brother. She is survived by her four sons, Randy, Mickey, Pat and Ben, four grandsons, two granddaughters and four great grandchildren. She grew up in Wrens, Georgia where she met Dad. They moved to Atlanta after they married. She was a strong Christian woman and stayed active in the church. She attended Georgia State College for Women. She taught school for several years and talked often of those good times. She enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing, knitting and gardening. She loved Flowers. She was a true southern cook and everything was made from scratch. She and Dad went camping and fishing often. Her family and church life were the most important things to her. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 4 at 1:00 P.M. at Hillandale Memorial Gardens, Lithonia, GA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm Thursday at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
