Mr. R. D. “Bud” Richardson, 81, of Decatur died Wednesday, January 21, 2009. A native of DeKalb County, he served his country during WWII in the Merchants Marines and again during the war in Korea as a U. S. Marine. Mr. Richardson was a retired secretary for S.J. Durrance Trucking Company, where he worked for 30 years. He was a member of Rainbow Park Baptist Church for over 40 years. Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lurlene Meadows Richardson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24th at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Don Lockhart and Rev. Will Bacon officiating. Interment, Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northcase Pkwy. #1, Marietta, GA 30067. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
