Roger Clement Wilson

Roger C. Wilson of Atlanta passed away on Oct. 6. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane Lee Wilson, children Lee Wilson and husband Howard A. Gold, Roger Bentley (Ben) Wilson, Beth Wilson, and grandchildren Michael and Lauren Gold. Mr. Wilson was born in Hot Springs, AR on Sept. 29, 1927. He graduated from the University of Arkansas and earned a Master's degree from the American Institute of Foreign Trade. He worked in the insurance industry his entire career, ultimately forming his own agency, specializing in high risk life and health insurance. He was a kind and loving father to his children and a devoted husband. When his children were young, he was actively involved in their activities, and throughout his life, family get-togethers gave him great pleasure. He loved to travel, enjoying numerous trips to Europe, Canada, and throughout the United States with his wife and family. He enjoyed the beach and the mountains of North Carolina, having owned homes in Surfside Beach, SC and Asheville. He celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary with his wife and daughters in Ireland. A memorial service will be held at A.S. Turner and Sons on Oct. 10, 1:00 p.m. Visitation is at Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
