Roger Schuppert

Mr. Roger Allen Schuppert, a dedicated scholar and esteemed member of the Georgia State University community, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, in Decatur, Georgia. Born in Milwaukee in 1947 to Arnold William Schuppert and Harriet Spencer, Mr. Schuppert's life was characterized by a pursuit of knowledge and service.

Throughout his academic journey, Mr. Schuppert achieved significant milestones, earning a Bachelor's degree in English and two Master's degrees, one in Education and the other in Communication with a focus on print journalism, all from Georgia State University. His passion for learning was matched only by his commitment to his work at Georgia State University, where he served as a Clerk III from 1973 to 1985 and later as a records coordinator.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Schuppert also selflessly served his country as a member of the Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968. His dedication to his work and community was evident in his various leadership roles, including serving as the chairman of the policies and procedures committee and as a member of the staff advisory council at Georgia State University, as well as in the Caps Program.

A Funeral Service to honor Mr. Roger Allen Schuppert's life will be held at Decatur Presbyterian Church on July 24, 2024, at 4:00 pm. At a later date, Mr. Schuppert will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery in a private burial ceremony.

In his memory, donations be made to a charity of your choice. Mr. Schuppert's legacy of dedication and kindness will be remembered and celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
