Roger Scott, 80, of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, November 13, 2019 of natural causes.
Born in Vineland, NJ, on February 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Michael and Marie (Ahlquist) Scott, and the spouse of Marlene M. (Bassetti) Scott.
Roger grew up and attended school in Vineland, and then joined the United States Navy after high school and served on the USS Essex aircraft carrier. After an honorable discharge, Roger started his carpentry career in the area and eventually established Scott Homes, Inc. where he built beautifully crafted homes and furniture. He furthered his career at Wheaton’s Glass in Millville up through the early nineties before taking a position as plant manager for B&B Produce in Benson, NC, for the next 25 years. Roger enjoyed wood working and tending to his garden and pristine yard. After retiring, Roger eventually moved to Atlanta, GA, where his immediate family lives and enjoyed spending time with them and connecting with nature. His dry sense of humor and smile will be missed.
Roger is survived by his wife, Marlene, his daughter, Christa (Scott) Fioresi, son-in-law, Victor Fioresi, grandsons Leo and Gabriel Fioresi, his daughter Heather (Scott) Cooper, son-in-law, Jonathan Cooper, grandson Rhys and granddaughter Sophia Cooper, and son, Roger William Scott II. He is also survived by many wonderful extended family and friends in the Vineland and Benson areas.
