Ronald Spencer Adair

Ronald Spencer Adair, 66, of Decatur, passed away from cancer on September 7, 2012. Ron was born April 26, 1946, in Miami, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Joseph Adair, Sr. and Audrey Mae Hamilton Adair Cullingford and his brothers, Donald Marsh Adair and James Joseph Adair, Jr. Ron worked at Norwick Brothers and retired from Nalmac Embossing. Ron was raised in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta and graduated from Bass High School. In 1964, Ron enlisted in the U. S. Army and served his country in Germany and Vietnam. Ron liked watching football, especially Georgia Tech and the Falcons. He also enjoyed watching the Braves, going to the beach and fishing. Ron is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Nell Autrey Adair; their son, Spencer Joseph Adair of Decatur; their daughter, Emily Adair Hanberry and her husband Rick of Portland OR; his sisters, Madeleine Aldred of Tucker, Joan Adair of Senoia, and Lisa Cullingford of Murphy NC; several nieces and nephews. He especially enjoyed playing with his wife's nephews, Keith and Bruce Autrey. A memorial service will be held 3 PM, Sunday, September 23, 2012, in the Chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, with Rev Jonathan Moore officiating. For those desiring, memorial donations may be made to Avondale Pattillo United Methodist Church, 3260 Covington Hwy, Decatur GA 30032. The family will receive friends 1-3 Sunday afternoon prior to the service at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
