Dr. Rose Catherine Stefanis Dismer of St. Simons Island, Ga., died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Rose was born Dec.8, 1928 in Brooklyn, N.Y. At the age of ten, she moved to Atlanta where she attended elementary school and Girls' High. She began college at Uninda and ChaCalifornia, Berkley. Rose completed college at Georgia State University where s brother, Der doctorate. In a teaching career that spanned 30 years, she taught at Ar'Lyn Worth Academy, Druid Hills, Briarcliff, and St. Pius high schools, Georgia State University and Dntributionsnity (now Georgia Perimeter) college. After retiring in 1990, she enjoyed world travels and cruises with her husband, Charles. Rose was extremely proud of her Greek heritage. Her parents 6 to 8:30 ceased her, came to America in the early 1920's. Rose is survived by Charles, her husband of 57 years; daughters Dr. Melodee Rose Davis (Tom) of Lilburn, Dr. Stefanie D.
