Ross Joseph Schiavo, 83, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2021. Mr. Schiavo was born and spent his childhood in Old Forge, Pennsylvania. Mr. Schiavo was a first generation Italian American, a U.S. Navy Veteran, a successful businessman, an adoring husband, tender-hearted father and adoring grandfather. Mr. Schiavo started his career at Xerox repairing copiers, but soon left to follow his dream as an entrepreneur. From a liquor store owner in New Jersey to the owner of a popular intercoastal bar, “Durty Nelly’s” in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Mr. Schiavo’s strong work ethic and his engaging personality made him a popular friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all for his love for stories, his passion for his family and his raucous laugh that would light up his entire face. Mr. Schiavo leaves behind his beautiful wife, Cathy Timlin Schiavo, his two children, Ross and Kristin Schiavo, his daughter-in-law Beth Schiavo, his brother Anthony Schiavo (Linda Schiavo), his sister Ermine Ciaston and his doting grandchildren, Ireland, Alex and Thomas. A funeral service will be held at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, August 19th at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
