Ruan Reese

Ruan Reese was born December 2, 1954 in Decatur and grew up in Lithonia. She attended Lithonia High School graduating in 1972. She attended the University of Georgia in Athens acquiring a bachelor's degree in Education. She worked as a substitute teacher following her graduation. A few years later she entered the computer field where she worked for about 37 years. During that time she was employed by New Hermes Corp, IBM, and Cox Automotive. She retired from work in 2018. She was married to Lionel Hugh Brown on January 24, 1987 at the Ousley Methodist Church in Lithonia.

Ruan enjoyed walking out in nature, visiting gardens, reading, sewing and genealogy. As a big sports fan, she enjoyed watching Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves games. Her favorite garden spot was Callaway Gardens, where she and her husband visited almost on a yearly basis. Ruan passed peacefully on December 19th with her husband by her side.
