Ruben Diaz O'Ben

SFC (Ret) Ruben Diaz O’ben loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday November 27, 2019 after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.

Ruben was born on May 21, 1939 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico. He was married to Carmen Guadalupe Ocasio on December 9, 1961. They had two daughters, Annette and Dharma, one son, David and one granddaughter, Katarina.

Ruben was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary for over 25 years where he offered his services. In his freetime he enjoyed playing solitaire and would never give up a game regardless of how many times he had to click the back button. A dedicated fan to the Atlanta Braves he was rarely seen without his Braves hat.

Ruben is survived by his wife Carmen, daughters, son, granddaughter, six sisters, Ana Christina, Aida, Juanin, Nory, Sonia and Cecil, and his brother Marcos.

A Funeral Mass will be said at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Thursday December 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM. A visitation will be held Wednesday December 4, 2019 between 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton GA.
