Ruth Conner Fristoe

Ruth Conner Fristoe, 89, of Decatur, GA died Saturday December 31, 2011. Preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Dr. John William Fristoe, Jr., she is survived by her four children, Katherine Fristoe Tronco and husband, Joe, of Charlotte, NC, John William Fristoe, III, of Athens, GA, Elizabeth Fristoe Kibler and husband, Bud, of Columbia, SC, and Thomas Conner Fristoe and wife, Margaret, of Crossett, AR. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, her brother, Dr. Thomas Conner, Jr. of Atlanta and her sister, Miriam Conner Jones and husband, Milnor, of Athens, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A native Atlantan, Ruth was born at the old Piedmont Hospital on February 7, 1922, the first child of Miriam Sneed Conner and Dr. Thomas Conner, Sr. She was a student in the 1st first grade at Druid Hills Elementary School in Atlanta. She attended Randolph-Macon Women's College and graduated from Vanderbilt University. She was a member of the Wednesday Morning Study Club, The Wildflower Garden Club of Victoria Estates, the Baptist Quilters Club of Harmontown, MS, a friend of Lois W. for 50 years, a member of North Decatur Methodist Church and its TNT Sunday School Class; she took great pride in raising pine and hardwood trees on her certified tree farm in MS. Private family services will be held at a later date at Westview Cemetery.
