Ruth Cowan

Miss Ruth Cowan of Decatur died Monday, October 4, 2004.  She and her sister Ruby, who preceded her in death, owned and operated the Cowan Sandwich Shop on Spring Street in Atlanta.  Miss Cowan was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lillian Payne Newell Sunday School Class and the Wesley Circle of United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sister, Mary Jackson of Decatur, GA; thirteen nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. John A Beyers and Dr. Sam Coker officiating.  Interment will be in Bethel Methodist Churchyard.  The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM in the parlor at Grace. A. S. Turner and Sons.
