Mrs. Ruth Murray Dickson, 91 years of age, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2008. She had a full and blessed life. Mrs. Dickson was preceded in death by her parents John Asa and Annie Belle Murray, beloved husband Carl, her devoted son Don, and her two sisters, Inez Beavers and Martha Boynton. She is survived by daughter and her husband, Linda and Mike Watson; daughter-in-law, Joan Dickson; grandchildren, Tony Watson, Jennie and her husband Nathan Robbins, Ellen Dickson, Dana Dickson, Mitzi White and her son Bradley. She is also survived by her loving sister and her husband Henrie and Emory Brooks; brother-in-law, William Beavers and his wife Margaret; and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved all of her family. She was a long time resident of the Virginia Highlands. Ruth was a member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church since 1955 and she was always devoted to the church and enjoyed her volunteer work in the church with her cherished friends she made over the years. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 1st in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Tim Shirley officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity or church of your choice. One of her favorite charities was the American Heart Association. Mrs. Dickson was in the care of Crossroads Hospice when she passed away. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
