Ruth Eileen Hartsock

September 3, 1934 — March 26, 2018

Ruth was born in Jefferson City, MO (pronounced Missoura by Ruth) on September 3, 1934. She passed away surrounded by family at Emory Hospital on March 26, 2018.

Ruth was a gentle person who always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say. She was a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She grew up in Chamois, MO on the banks of the Missouri River. Ruth was a 1952 graduate of Chamois High School. For the last 36 years, she enjoyed working with her son-in-law and other friends at Namano and Southeastern Findings in Tucker, GA. She had just retired this past January. Ruth was predeceased by her parents George and Edna Kishmar, her son Baby Jerry and her sister Mary Callais.

Ruth is survived by her daughters - Michelle Hodgin and Lisa Callaway and her husband Gus, her grandchildren - Laura Hodgin, Sarah Hodgin, Chrissy Callaway, Mayson Callaway and his wife Erin Callaway and her great-granddaughter Lucy Artime and by her brother - George Kishmar and his wife Mary.

A memorial service will be held at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Rd, Decatur 30033 on April 29, 2018 at 2 PM in the main sanctuary with a reception immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Ruth’s love of children with a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
