Ruth Hartmann

Ruth C. Hartmann (nee Cleveland) passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 following a period of declining health. She was born in 1922 to Beatrice (Smith) and Frank Cleveland. She grew up in Milwaukee, WI and Portland, OR. In 1942 she met Fred C. Hartman, and they were married on August 7th 1942. Following WWII they made their home in Chicago before moving to Atlanta. After Fred's death in 1995 she moved to Ball Ground, GA. A member of the Lutheran faith, Ruth was a shining example of a loving wife and a devoted mother. She was loved by everyone who met her. She is survived by her daughters and son-in laws; Diane and Bill Leslie of Pipestone, MN, Mary and Paul Johnson of Ball Ground, GA; her grandchildren, Caroline and John Horner, of St. Paul, MN, Laura and Brandon Nelson of Bloomington MN, Marie and Dave Riipinen of St. Michael, MN, Jay Johnson and special friend Ellavee Woody of Ball Ground, GA, and Peter Christian Johnson of Augusta, GA; her three great-grandchildren, Blake and Julia Nelson and Natalie Ruth Horner; her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and James Peirano, of La Habra, CA; and many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Thelma Johnson. In addition to be preceded in death by her husband, she was also preceded by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Everett Robinson, and one grandson, Christian Leslie. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Scottish Rite Children's Hospitals. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons at 2:30 pm on Saturday December 21st with Rev. Haco W. Von Hacke officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 pm until service time at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory
