Ruth Lenora Henck

Ruth Hammond Henck, widow of David N. Henck, and mother of Janice Henck, passed away on Tuesday April 9, 2013, at Gentiva/Odyssey House Hospice in Decatur. Ruth was predeceased by a sister, Helen Hammond Alexander and their parents, Mary Boyd Hammond and S. W. "Bud" Hammond. Ruth and Helen were raised by their maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Boyd, along with their nine children, also predeceasing her. She was also predeceased by a half-sister Beatrice Simpson. Ruth is survived by half-sisters Margaret Dominguez and Shirley Weatherford, many Henck relatives and Boyd cousins who looked upon her as an aunt. She will most of all be missed by her loving daughter, Janice. Funeral will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 12, at the Chapel of A. S. Turner Funeral Home in Decatur, with visitation on Thursday, April 11, from 5:00-7:30 PM. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory
